From Utah and the Southwest
In April 2017, a presidential executive order opened 24 out of 129 United States National Monuments to review for potential private development and industrial use—a dramatic reversal of protections granted by presidents of both parties dating back to 1996. (Two of these monuments have already been scaled back dramatically.) This show seeks to draw attention to these monuments and to document the threats to these public lands, specifically in the desert Southwest where almost half of these Monuments are located.
This show completed production in February 2019.
